With Broken Wingsby ~Dreamz-of-Twilight

And with broken wings
they still fly
Ever reaching for the sky.

This was a tombstone that was in the small cemetary of a 100+ year old mission in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It is located in Gadag-Betgeri, and the town was actually founded by the Rev. Cecil S. Rivington, who founded the mission.

The wings of the angels were broken off by some of the local children.

Something about the subject seems to bring such a feeling of sadness and despair. Of being forgotten and alone.
But yet somehow it also evokes a feeling of hope.

I had taken another shot earlier in the day which had much better lighting.
Unfortunately I'd had the resolution set much lower than I had wanted.
I didn't find out until much later in the evening, and I had to leave early the next morning, so I had to settle with the lighting I got here.
