This photograph is dedicated to all those who have gone before us. Both those who have fallen in the service of our country, and those who have served and passed on later in life. We thank you for your sacrifice!
A special salute to:
My grandfather's grandfather, 1st Sergeant Orange G. Emerson, Company H, U.S. Volunteers 2nd Sharp Shooter Regiment, 1861 - 1865 (American Civil War).
My grandfather's great-uncle, Gary H. Emerson (brother of Orange G.), Company H, U.S. Volunteers 2nd Sharp Shooter Regiment (American Civil War).
My grandmother's brother, Cedric Hilliker, who died in The Death March of Bataan, Philippines in 1942 (World War II).
My mother's father, Lieutenant Bernard R. Coyle, bomber pilot in the Black Cat squadron, pacific theater (World War II).
My father's brother, Sergeant Charles Emerson (Viet Nam). (Retired)
My brother, David C. Emerson, 1st Cavalry Division, Combat Aviation Brigade, "Warrior", 615th Aviation Support Battalion, "Cold Steel", who is currently stationed in Iraq.
Yeah, he is currently on his second tour in Iraq. His term in the military was supposed to have ended, but because of the stupid stop-loss program, his term got extended for an extra year.
I have linked my photo back to your article and page.
