This grouse is one of the dumbest birds I have encountered. It walked out in front of my brother's truck which was barreling down the road at it, with no concern whatsoever for it's safety. I guess there is a good reason they are also referred to as "Fool hens".

I would like to thank everyone in advance for the faves and comments. I am starting to get too much of a workload to keep up with. I will try and thank people individually as I can, but incase I don't get to you, Thank you! :D :hug: :heart:

Thank you! Yeah, it really does depend on where you live. I live in Montana and spend a lot of time in the mountains. Even at that, I generally only see them once a year or so. Usually I just hear them, which if it's unexpected can scare the daylights out of me!

LOL! We have them all over around here. I see them all the time. I will be out hiking or something and because they're so camoflauge I won't even see them, and then when I get right up next to them, it frightens them and they will fly away with a really loud whooping sound. I tell you, when that happens, it practically scares me to DEATH! I think like a giant monster or something is jumping at me out of the bushes.
